Big blow for Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2020

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League which is scheduled to begin on 29th March will see a major blow for the champions of the 1st season of the IPL as the England Cricket Team Bowling All-rounder Jofra Archer will miss this year IPL due to a low-grade stress fracture in elbow and hence he has been ruled out of the IPL 2020.

Jofra Archer was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2018 auction for 7.20 Crore. He is an integral part of the team but in recent times the injury is ruining his game. In many series, he was dropped from the national team squad and now Archer along with IPL 2020 he will miss the tour of Sri Lanka as well.

Confirmation from the board

The England and Wales Cricket Board in a statement disclosed, “As a result of the injury, he has been ruled out of England’s Test tour of Sri Lanka and the Indian Premier League 2020 season.”

The player will have to go through a long medical treatment under the ECB medical team.

“He will now commence an injury rehabilitation programmed with the ECB medical team with a view to be ready for the international summer campaign starting in June against West Indies in a three-match Test series.”

Rajasthan Royals yet to announce a replacement

The IPL franchise RR has not announced a replacement for the Archer and they are expecting him to get fit as early and represent the team in IPL 2020 but it seems impossible.
